Hiding in plain sight

We have been making the most of the summer team working in the shops these past couple of weeks.
That meant spending a bit of time between the cottage office (table that overlooks the lake) and home office, (table that overlooks the garden).
It's also meant catching up on 2 years of chores around the places. This has been met with some laughter and frustrations.
Seems we forgot what tools are in what location.
This proved exactly the case when I was directed to buy a wheelbarrow, even though we thought we had one - for the cottage, because "we can't move that compost without one and it’ll help gather the hedge cuttings up easier"... after stalking out the websites then heading to Tokaroa. I arrive at Bunnings set to buy the $79 special. (That wasn’t simple either it turns out)
Back at the cottage with said barrow I then take a look in the shed for the rake, to discover a dam wheelbarrow but no RAKE!!!
You can imagine.
Take a look at that shed wall… "Oh, look a wheelbarrow” he said sheepishly, hiding in plain sight.
I was quiet as I gathered up the clippings by hand into the new barrow in 30+ degrees.
However the sense of calm watching the lake sparkle over the freshly clipped hedge this morning is actually worth yesterday's efforts.
Hiding in plain sight is what often happens to the last item in a style group in the shop too. So these lasts don't become too lonely I've put them all together in size breaks in one area and made them a “special price” $40, $80, $99 or $110.
New seasons shoes started arriving too - so to make room for these you’ll also see we have 20-30% off most shoes, in store, they are labeled accordingly. Even brands we never normally special are marked down to walk out the door - no hiding these specials they are out in plain sight! See you soon.
