"I'm not as big as you"

A statement like that at 9.15 in the morning can bite a girl before she’s had a decent coffee!

Helping a lady find a skirt on Tuesday, she said what size do you think I am? Now this is a trick question at times, so I asked her “What size do you think you are?”( In my mind and experience she appeared to be between a 14-16). So I answered this, and she replied “Well I don't want to be a 16!"

My quick reply was "not many of us do, unless you’re a 18-20 then you may be happy to be a 16." "I'm certainly not as big as you", she retorted.

Ouch!… Cause I couldn’t keep it to myself...

"For the record Im between 12-14 so it's just a number" and, if the skirt fits who cares as long as it brings you joy?

…Other client in store is laughing out loud now, and says I guess if the number fits wear it…

This totally reminded me of - If the shoe fits wear it, or act your age not your shoe size 🤣 and the puns go on. For the rest of the week it's been my absolute pleasure fitting ladies into jeans, tops and shoes… particularly boots, boots for naughty feet. Im actually proud of the really great selection of shoes for naughty feet we have. Which reminds me we are a specialist store for that awkward foot, hard to fit jeans body, and especially well equipped with a wicked sense of humour!
