The muffin man?

Daughter has made a “doing” Advent Calendar this December, and its been a bit of fun “doing” each days task. Some simple, like: call a friend you haven't spoken to in a while, watch a Christmas movie, send a real Christmas card, … and one this week a not so simple- Bake Christmas Cookies… Now that became an event!
Actually, the decorating of said cookies became the event🤣.
“Come help me” was called and so of course being the artists both husband and I are, we both obliged.
Husband only doing 1 so he could eat one. Me on the other hand, found my groove. After dressing several cookies, I decided facial expressions were called for other than a smile, and then the antics began…. "do you know the muffin man?, - the one from cherry lane”. Not the one at the waist of your pants chimed daughter...in the voice from the movie Shrek of the gingerbread man.
Oh my gosh did you really just say that? We laughed our way thru the rest of the unfortunate cookies.
We pondered the food explosion that is Christmas, which then requires the new years resolutions and a refresh of our pants and shorts.
I was certainly case in hand.
The lightweight jeans we lovingly refer to as the hay maker, just arrived back in store, and I had grabbed a pair, so was actually wearing them as all this carry on was unfolding, and Id also grabbed a pair of the new shorts, so short jokes were also bouncing about the kitchen...
We have shorter hours the shorter weeks and we have plenty or shorts too- no Muffins visible.
Thank goodness we aren’t really what we eat!
It's now time to wish you a Happy Festive Season - Celebrate well. However that looks for you.
